Venus Rx in Capricorn and the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle – What will it bring?

Venus Retrograde – 25° – 11° Capricorn, Dec 19 – Jan 29, 2022
Lunar Eclipse 27° Taurus – November 19, 2021, Solar Eclipse 10° Taurus – April 30, 2022

Lunar Eclipse 25° Scorpio – May 16, 2022
Solar Eclipse 2° Scorpio – Oct 25, 2022, Lunar Eclipse 16° Taurus – Nov 8, 2022

Recently, my dad and I went over to a close family friend’s house for Thanksgiving. Our friends have a daughter who is basically like my cousin. We have loved cuddling all our lives and talking about Netflix. There was just one other family invited whom I didn’t know very well – a very nice auntie who had to leave early cause she had to work, uncle and son. But it turned out that even with very few people, it was a very entertaining evening.

We started off the evening with pleasant conversation, delicious snacks and champagne. The three ‘kids’ played games beginning with cards while the parents sang Hindi karaoke songs, loud and clear. We played Rumi and Texas hold ‘em poker. First off, I can’t stand it when people bully you by betting abnormously high in the beginning (and I was forewarned by the uncle who pleasantly boasted about his son’s constant winning streak in life. He honestly was very nice to talk to, exuding warmth, smiliness and gratitude). Well guess what, I’m just gonna end up taking my money back, its equivalent from you and generally end up with more. And then everyone has to quit the game because it’s time to eat. Muaaahhahhhahhahhha.

We moved on to Scattergories for a short period of time because we couldn’t use our brains due to food coma. How are you supposed to come up with food items starting with ‘W’ or ‘D’? Very difficult. We then of course moved on to Monopoly. I have not played this game in so long and enjoyed being the laptop who got to traverse the board numerous times due to rolling doubles a lot and acquiring properties, even ones I didn’t want but ended up buying anyway cause I landed on them repeatedly. I enjoyed collecting small amounts of rent, but not as much as my cousin collected due to her numerous properties, and from guess who, from the beloved son who only had two of them AND it turns out, the uncle, who I realized was also playing.

I thought he was singing with the others but suddenly how many spaces we all had moved in relation to the dice was being thoroughly checked by him. His face turned very serious when his son handed $120 over to me, and respectfully so, because I owned the Electric Company and the other utility. They repeatedly landed on Chance and contributed to Free Parking. I was also laughed at by guess who because I needed change and suggested exchanging a 50 in the parking for some change from the bank. Somehow we aren’t allowed to do that. He kept laughing and looking at me and I quietly questioned in my head yet again how I end up in these situations. I just smiled at the other player, sharing in the understanding of this totally absurd moment.

Needless to say, I should have expected an Indian uncle whose family is in the top 1% highest income category in the United States to be incredibly and visibly upset that his son had little money and not enough properties. If it was ten years ago, I would have been really irked by this team offering to buy one of my properties for $200 when I just bought it for $180. Really how much work must you be really doing in life and how hungry could you possibly think I am that I would just want a $20 ‘profit’ from this exchange. Sometimes those with more just don’t understand the correct exchanges. I counteroffered by saying he could buy it from me for a $1000 and for the other player it would be $600. The suggestion was also enthusiastically made to do a trade with the other player and collect rents, but it reeked of money laundering and I went into shock.

After having our necks breathed down on and only a couple glasses of alcohol because you’re around family, it was time for the game to end and certain people to leave. What was once a warm, smiley uncle turned into a low energy and concerned one but who left amicably and who we nevertheless had compassion for. Even being annoyed, I was unable to control my inner laughter, sending emojis and texts to my cousin afterwards. We wanted to send him sore loser gifs like ‘Don’t be Upsetti, Eat Some Spaghetti’ and that handsome black guy doing a crying face.

This is how the Universe works. It brings scenes into the grand play of your life of what’s about to unfold and what will come up. A lot of people will be excited.

~ Happy Holidays ~

Transit update: Nodes in Cancer Capricorn

Transits:

  • Saturn in Capricorn
  • Jupiter in Sagittarius
  • Uranus in Taurus
  • Neptune in Pisces
  • Pluto in Capricorn

Outer planet Uranus reenters Taurus in March for good for the next seven years while Chiron reenters Aries in February for eight years. It’s interesting to note that both entities Uranus and Chiron, which represent the nature of soul wounds and traumas, are simultaneously in well-emphasized masculine and feminine signs: Aries is Mars-ruled masculine and Taurus is Venus-ruled feminine. There will be many manifestations of this including more layers of wounding with regards to the male/female dynamic coming to the surface in various facets of life including of course relationships as well as opportunities for deeper spiritual understanding and expression of the Divine Masculine/Feminine.

The moon’s nodes continue their transit in Cancer/Capricorn and transiting Saturn conjuncts the south node (Capricorn) throughout May, June, July and September. To me what comes up is the balance between emotions and inner security and the structures that exist in our personal lives and the outer world. What are the power dynamics and how can we restructure to meet our personal and collective needs? Capricorn and Cancer are both feminine signs so to me what immediately comes up is the disconnection and reappropriation of the feminine aspect in our existing systems. We’ve already seen these issues and the voicing of them with Pluto transiting Capricorn over the last few years but the extra Capricornian emphases this year unearths a different picture for us to face and the eclipses will jumpstart the process for us.

  • Solar Eclipse 15°Capricorn – Jan 5
  • Lunar Eclipse 0°Leo – Jan 21
  • Solar Eclipse 10°Cancer – July 2
  • Lunar Eclipse 24°Capricorn – July 16
  • Solar Eclipse 4° Capricorn – Dec 26

As we traverse the routines and realities of our lives, Cancer reminds us to come back to the emotional body and check in with where we feel and don’t feel secure and comfortable. Reflections on where one feels insecure or a lack of nurturance can induce the appropriate adjustments. These reflections will also occur with regards to finances and physical resources as Uranus reenters Taurus, where through sudden events, financial realities may need to be adjusted or renewed. The idea behind it all is to follow your true inspirations so if you do not feel emotionally satisfied and happy with how you create your financial base, then it’s time to start the change-making process. Becoming proactive when the signs start showing themselves is better than delaying changes until a crises of some kind forces you to change. You may have to come up with creative, inventive ways to survive in the case of an impending financial disaster, which is sadly likely especially into the beginning of next year, Jan 2020, when the infamous Pluto/Saturn conjunction occurs. It is wise to start aligning the thinking with saving money or realigning resources this year.

Thankfully, there are no Venus and Mars retrogrades, whose occurrences in 2018 led to arduous delays, strains and unmanifestations of all kinds. Things will subtly move forward in 2019 with the presence of Jupiter in Sagittarius, inviting us to live with a spirit of freedom and fearlessness. If you are interested in pursuing a career in teaching, increasing your learning about what ignites your interest or traveling more, this would be the year to pursue these activities. The one straining aspect is Jupiter’s square to Neptune with exact placements in January, June and September so if you pursue new directions, make sure to guard yourself against deception. Ask all the questions, do your research and follow your gut before you invest yourself. We will also likely see more religious and political zealotry, dysfunction and refugee crises worsening worldwide.

The big picture is that we are in a death/rebirth process and are reaching a climax. The important thing is to not remain stagnant and to not make huge leaps either. During down moments, staying in motion even at a very slow pace will prove to be beneficial. January 2019 began with Mars at 0°Aries, igniting a pioneering spirit and all Mercury retrogrades this year occur in water signs, again emphasizing the emotional body. There are definitely some intense and dangerous moments this year, but coming back to themes of spirituality, connection and the pursuit of philosophical truths will help immensely.

Best to you!

Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

February’s solar eclipse again highlights the birth of a ‘Collective Vision’ and brings an opportunity to create an intention around manifesting this because it’s a new moon (Solar eclipses are new moons). It occurs in conjunction with the Sun and Mercury to almost the same degree helping us align our thinking and well-being around shared ideals. This moment is literally screaming ‘It’s the Age of Aquarius!’ and it really is time to focus on the values and ideas that work towards creating harmony within a group or society.

What I love about this eclipse is that it flows into a beautiful Piscean current towards the end of the month (Neptune/Mercury and Neptune/Venus conjunctions in Pisces) reminding us to always integrate compassion, healing and a sense of service within the work done in the collective. Neptune/Pisces has an exquisite imagination and we might begin to imagine some wonderful and even surreal possibilities as to how relationships and ways of relating to each other can evolve. If you need a dose of groundedness or practicality, you’ll get it on the Full Moon in Virgo on March 1, but don’t be afraid to dream big and have faith in the possibilities.

The vision we form now becomes the ground we walk on in the near future and we should feel free to incorporate our intellectual sides. Another phase of intensity is brewing underground and we’ll be seeing the effects of that in the spring so forming new definitions of what independence, friendship and compromise look like now will ensure that we’re prepared for what’s coming ahead.
